It is hard work keeping up with this live blogging Christmas, mostly because we are so exhausted by the end of the days. Uncle G left right after breakfast this morning. Granny and I and the two older girls did a little post holiday shopping and were successful, if you define success as spending money and bringing home bargains. Mostly, we had fun together. We opened presents...Granny & Grandpa looooved the painting Firstborn did for them as well as Sunshine's painting (I'll post pics later). They also loved the photo book I put together for them using my favorite gift giving website, Shutterfly) .
After the fun, we had to scurry to get the house cleaned up and everything ready for a little evening soiree we had planned. A few of the Professor's students came over with their families to provide some holiday music in the form of an intimate gathering/informal recital. One of the families, natives of Poland, serenaded us with some lilting Polish carols and then we all joined in on a carol sing-a-long. It is really a special and unique experience to sing with a group of people in a fun and informal setting. I think everyone was ready for more, actually. How refreshing! We enjoyed wonderful holiday treats including some ethnic ones...cabbage rolls, lefse, strudel and, umm, do taquitos count?
Anyway, that sums up the third glorious day of Christmas '06: Family, Friends, and Musical Fun!
