Bigger is not always best and small is still beautiful.

I can't really endorse this book, because I haven't yet read it, but Small is Still Beautiful: Economics as if Families Still Mattered by Joseph Pearce seems to hold a lot of promise for those of us interested in such topics as distributism, genuine conservatism, true economics and self-limitation. The author is leading an online discussion of the book at the website blog Small is Still Beautiful.

Here is the invitation from the website:

Dear readers,

Welcome to our blog dedicated to a discussion of Joseph Pearce’s new book, Small Is Still Beautiful. Beginning on Monday, January 8, Joseph and several others will be blogging here to discuss the relevance, meaning, principles, and possible applications of the cultural-economic vision set out by E. F. Schumacher in his classic work, Small Is Beautiful, more than thirty years ago. Crunchy cons, reactionary radicals, localists, conservationists, decentralists, agrarians, traditionalists—this blog is for you. And if you hate all of that stuff, well, you may want to check out this blog—and Joseph Pearce’s book—just to see what the enemy is up to now.

See you here on January 8…

I will certainly be reading and, perhaps, chiming in from time to time. Perhaps some of you will join me.
