A Lovely Week

Our summer travels this month had a unique purpose: the celebrating of two marriages. One marriage was just beginning; the love fresh, brave, and youthful. My dear niece wed the love of her life and welcomed his two children to form a new little family. Such a lovely wedding it was:

The day after the wedding, all of the immediate family, newlyweds included, headed to the beautiful Paradise Point near Branson, Missouri. There we had two gorgeous condos rented for the week, both overlooking the Ozarks and a very beautiful Table Rock Lake. Our view:

We enjoyed the natural beauties of the area swimming in the lake, nature walks and even frolicking about in the dark of night:

There was plenty more fun including a golf game for some of the men, mini golf for everyone, go carting and bumper boats for the younger (or younger at heart) crowd, a fun show and some shopping. Oh, and a ping pong tournament (Congrats, Chris!). Plus Aunt Lisa did a fun craft with the children and then taught Sunshine & I how to crochet. Each family prepared a dinner, so the eatin' was quite fine. Most of all, the company was wonderful. Lots of bonding with my nephew and his wife and with my new great-niece and great-nephew. Hope all of them will visit soon!

Just love this pic of my mom with her son and grandson.

On Friday we celebrated my parents' Golden Wedding anniversary. Such a striking contrast to the newlyweds is a couple who have weathered many joys and sorrows together for five decades. Inimitable wisdom, depth and understanding.

What a handsome couple!
