a lovely tea party

With all of the talk of teas over at Cottage Blessings these days, I thought it high time I post a few pictures of a tea party a dear friend of mine hosted earlier this summer. Two mothers and their daughters were invited over for a morning tea while the fathers and sons enjoyed some early fishing followed by a lunch at a local pizzeria.

The setting was lovely. Becki had pretty china, placemats
she handmade for the occasion, tea cup placecards and
tea pot napkin rings.

The food was delicious. The menu included an assortment of tea sandwiches: Cheddar-Sage Melties, Traditional Cucumber, Chicken Salad, Tomato-Herb, and a Fresh Fruit with cream cheese. There were also Petits- Fours, Mini Cheesecake and a wonderful Strawberry Cream Soup.

The girls enjoyed dressing up in costume.

After the tea, the girls went for a swim and enjoyed playtime. And soon after, the boys returned from a successful and pleasant fishing trip and took their turn to dive into the pool. We arrived back home in the afternoon with uplifted spirits and exhausted bodies. Thank you, Becki and family, for a lovely day!
