my true love baked for us: a figgy pudding with hard brandy sauce. Mmm-mm...it was a hit! The Prof claims British ancestry and has been wanting to prepare this traditional dessert for years. This year he collected and dried the figs from our tree (and very nearly had to put them under lock and key to protect those candy-like morsels from sneaky little hands) in anticipation of a Christmas figgy pudding. The recipe he followed was a basic, one day prep with lots of aromatic spices rather than the recipes that begin weeks or months in advance.
There were presents in the morning and a few afternoon errands. Firstborn was rippin' it on his new ripstick up and down the street and the girls gave a lot of time over to their new dolls.
Oh, and on Christmas, my parents gave The Prof a set of Twelve Days ornaments...a lovely ornament for each of the Twelve Days. So hanging the ornament each day has become a new addition to the daily celebration.
