Today's destination required a bit of a drive to the heart of The City. The Prof took the three eldest to see Mary Poppins as part of the annual summer film festival at an old downtown theater. The Paramount (doesn't every city have an historic "Paramount Theatre?") was built in 1915 and is on the site of what was at one time Sam Houston's office. Cue the collective "Wow" from the readership.
The children and The Prof enjoyed seeing the movie again and once they were home, the soundtrack was immediately placed in the CD rotation and rhythm instruments were retrieved from the music basket. Not sure what it is about the Mary Poppins music that inspires rhythm instruments more consistently than any other music we listen to around here.
