FOR TODAY
Outside my window...it is dark and quiet (well past midnight). We await the weather effects of Tropical Storm Hermine. The sky was a magical shade of blue this afternoon.
I am thinking...about oh-so-many things. Tweaking the school schedule, finishing meal plans, developing habits and virtues, finding time, earning money and, well, I guess that's why I am not sleeping when I really ought.
I am thankful for...a delightful afternoon with friends. Little bodies slowly giving over to sleep nestled in my arms.
From the learning rooms...A great start to the school year. The schedule needs some tweaking so that Firstborn can accomodate organ lessons and practice. But, I think we have found a happy medium after a couple of extreme types of years.
From the kitchen...I'll have to look at the meal plan. I have been working hard (hours!) to create a rotation of thirty different dinners, a dozen lunches and breakfasts and fifteen or so snacks. It is a challenge, but then we're going to stick with it for the season so I don't have to keep reinventing the wheel.
I am wearing...black (maternity) skirt, black blouse with pink flowers. Why am I not in my pyjamas yet???
I am creating...menu plans. But, then I want to move on to fall wardrobe for the girls, some baby presents for the newest arrivals in our circle of dear ones, Christmas presents, and silhouettes. Ooooh, I've been wanting to try my hand at silhouettes for a while now.
I am going...to bed as soon as I finish here.
I am reading...Small Steps for Catholic Moms in the mornings and Little House in the Big Woods with Little Queen. I think we'll start a book about angels soon for the family.
I am hoping...to finish up on that meal planning and get started on those creative projects very soon.
I am hearing...just the hum of the computer(s) and the deep breathing of my slumbering husband.
Around the house there is much space for beauty. We have lived here nearly seven years, but there is hardly a thing on the walls and only a few windows with curtains. I want to start doing some simple prettying that is long over due.
One of my favorite things...hearing my husband practicing. Usually we just hear him teaching, but now he is preparing for a couple of big performances and I just love hearing the music from his hands.
A few plans for the rest of the week: Mainly, just stick to the schedule. Schedules work well for everyone, but sticking with them requires so much self-discipline as I have a habit of meandering.
Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

Ummm.....you're wearing a black (maternity) skirt??? Should I be reading between the lines???
Got your message but haven't had time to e-mail back. Always lots going on here and now we're getting ready for the fall/winter season. Still trying to get my schedule together. Lots to catch up on so we may have to do it by phone. The end of the week is better for me. How about you. Give my love to the family.

Haha! You're funny, Becki...no, I am wearing a maternity skirt because I still have a new mama body.
Whew...I didn't think it had been that long since the baby was born but you're so tiny I just assume you're back in your regular clothes after the first week. I was quite excited even if it was only a slim possibility.
Didn't get to call you tonight because we were on the road all day making a run for some farm food...maybe tomorrow.

The Prof is a genius in many ways, but the best is the way he caresses a piano. Truly magical.
I love these daybook entries! Such a fun idea with nice little insights into your real world.
Thanks, Ouphgirl, they are fun to write!
