Outside my window...these days are perfect! Cool mornings and nights + warm, but not hot days. The children are outside every possible minute. Love it!
I am thinking...Our family is working on a new habit for October: Tidy as you go. This is good. Very good. But it is going to require considerable attention (aka, nagging---of the pleasantest sort, of course) from me. It also ties in with a personal habit I am trying to gain: Be the change you want to see.
I am thankful that after a terrifying search and a call to 911, we found our sweet Little O sleeping soundly on the dining room floor where he'd been paging through a saint book. (documented below)
From the learning rooms...So very exciting! Little Queen is starting to put letters & sounds together. The start of reading and writing is among the best of milestones.
From the kitchen...I won a blog giveaway! I have a year subscription to Plan to Eat and am itching to go goof around with it. Today we are embracing Autumn in the kitchen. There were baked apples for breakfast and beef chili is in the crockpot for dinner.
I am wearing...denim (maternity) skirt and black/red striped shirt + a braid
I am creating...new burp cloths for a baby girl who spits up and drools an awful lot. Something pretty and girlie for sure.
I am going...outside as much as possible.
I am reading...We finished Little House in the Big Woods and have moved on to Farmer Boy. Little Queen and Rosebud are enjoying hearing it aloud for the first time. We (especially Firstborn) are all enjoying Shaking the Nickel Bush still.
I am hoping...to find some substantive work, outside of the academics, for Firstborn. He's so very ready to do some real work and earn some real money.
I am hearing...Sunshine practicing piano. Little ones playing with the marble run. Baby Juju making her new growling/grunting sound. She was making that sound non-stop yesterday during Mass until I finally had to take her out for the disruption it was causing.
Around the house still sorting through lots of stored clothing. And, of course, tidying as we go!
One of my favorite things...that gigantic, contagious smile that babies give you when they first awaken to the new day.
A few plans for the rest of the week: Plant the fall garden. Start entering recipes at Plan to Eat.
Here is picture for thought I am sharing...
