I Say Catch-Up, She Hears Ketchup

One recent morning I announced during breakfast, "Today is going to be a catch-up day! We have been gone so much, we really need to clean up around the house and get some work done."

But, what Sunshine heard was, "Today is going to be Ketchup Day! Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah."

She asked why it was Ketchup Day, aka Catch-up day and I explained again. She must have thought I was ignoring her question. Twice during the morning she went to refrigerator and asked what we would be doing on Ketchup Day. Finally, I caught on and clarified the misunderstanding. Sunshine was rather disappointed, to be sure.

Which reminds me, do any of you other nursing mommies have children who get really curious about what a "nursing home" is? I just explained it to a bewildered Rosebud the other day and it was a definite deja vu as I have been through that with Firstborn and Sunshine before her. Hee, hee.
