Thursday night was the final face off between the D-Rays and the Athletics. During season play, we beat them once, lost to them once and tied them once. At the end of the season, the Rays and A's were co-champions.
Now in the double elimination post season play-offs, the A's were just barely defeated in their first match up against the Rays. But, in the final game of the series, the Rays were really on top of their game in every way and the Athletics had a totally off night. Obviously that is a formula for defeat. On a bright note, Firstborn was one of the few to get a hit off of the Rays during the game and, even if he was tagged out at first, it was better to go out on a hit than just being struck out.
Congrats to the Athletics for their First Place finish in season play and Second Place finish in the Tournament!!!
The season is over and we shall all enjoy the memories from the cool comfort of home. Stay tuned for next season...
