random updates

  • We purchased a new (2007) van last week. Since the Mercedes (aka, Dodge Sprinter) was a bit pricey and none were available to look at on the lot, we went with the "French" Chevrolet model. LOL. Anyway, I had really wanted a 10 passenger but as 12 and 15 were the only choices we went with the twelve. I was pretty intimidated at first, but she handles very nicely and I might even say that I enjoy driving her. The children are all giddy...selecting from the ten available seats every time we get in and then controlling the rear air themselves. Incredibly giddy, actually.

  • April is birthday month here. We began with my birthday on the fourth which included tickets to hear Kathleen Battle sing in our city's new concert hall. My parents-in-law were visiting which made it extra special. Next came our neighbor's 16th. We took her out for a nice lunch and then brought her back to the house for cake and presents. Next up, Rosebud's friend Thomas turned the big Six and this week our little neighbor Jett turns two and then Firstborn turns 11 at the end of this week.

As per Firstborn's request, I am going to attempt my first homemade ice cream cake. He
chose Neapolitan ice cream today at the store and asked me to pair it up with white cake.

Rosebud turns the Big Six next month, and as it is her year for a party, she is hard at work
planning a stunning princess themed gathering. Much more detail to come on that.

  • Baby's arrival is getting closer. We are now at 33 weeks. I am battling anemia and my husband's distaste for all of the girl names on my list. Oh well, we've settled on a boy's name at least...maybe that is all we'll need. The children and I are going to start a 54 day rosary novena asking for a safe delivery, but are hoping to spend at least the last few days giving thanksgiving rather than petitioning.

  • Oh, and we're very grateful not to be using the pliers to operate our stovetop anymore. Furthermore, many thanks to Kanga for lending me the Margins book and workbook.

Alright, the children are ready to head out on a walk now and we all need a little fresh air. Hope to be back again soon with photos.

Ah yes, I was just discussing big big vans with a friend of mine who is pregnant with number 8. How much I miss the Suburban, but how I appreciate the room in a big van, but how difficult they are to park, but how you do end up getting used to it eventually!

Good luck on picking a name; my husband and I have had this problem every time and with each child it gets worse! I mean, more fun!
