back for good, i hope

Whew,  that was a long unplanned hiatus from Soul of the Home.  I apologize to any of you who have been checking back in vain, hoping to find a post.  Perhaps there are none of you left;  but I shall carry on, nonetheless.  You see, I have been a bit pre-occupied with gestating.  Which means, I was mostly busy trying to nest between long daily naps.  It was a particularly exhausting third trimester---and for no particular reason---just a character of this pregnancy.  So there was a lot of sewing, cooking, cleaning, purging, organizing, extra-curricular activities, three to five baseball games a week, well, generally, just the regular stuff and there was one, sometimes, I'll admit, two lengthy naps each day.  But, that is changing now.

You see, my days of luxury naps are winding down as on Tuesday, May 11, our sweet babe finally arrived.  Deo Gracias!

I can tell you it was one of my more difficult labors and births;  I was exhausted and malnourished before it even began.  But, as they say, all's well that end's well and this most certainly ended well.  Very beautifully and blessedly well.  This little baby girl has delighted everyone in the family and bathed us all in a warm glow of blessed love.  Truly.

So, I am hoping now to find my writing voice and reinvigorate my energy and motivation so that I can come back to the blogs that have meant so much to me over the years.  Oh, and the computer monitor is working again.  That helps a lot, too.  I'll be back here and at Small Beauties, for sure.  Hope to see you there.  But for now, there is the little matter of the two-day-old Sweetness who is likely to awaken very soon and very hungry and the four-and-a-half year old curled up next to me with sore throat, goopy eyes and fever.  So back to the real "work" of the day...snuggling with the littles who really need me.
