going into labor at last

a midwife and husband who supported me to the very end, even when I started out by saying I didn't want to do it

labor ending (all's well that ends well I keep saying)

coming out of the fog and realizing that I had a most beautiful baby girl in my arms

hearty meals in bed accompanied by my favorite endorphins: chocolate and the scent of milky newborn breath

the most wonderful and generous friends ever

watching siblings immediately love and embrace their new sister

Little O outstretching his arms a gazillion times a day and exclaiming "Hold It!" when he sees his little sis, Juju.

my husband and his quiet, constant strength and love and willingness to try even when there are five other children to care for and two of them are sick and several have committments and his dear wife is takin' it easy and there is an income to be earned, and, well, just a wonderful husband

a character building labor, an intoxicating newborn and bright days to come
