Daybook :: The Blessing of an Ordinary Day

FOR TODAY
{more daybooks here}

Outside my window...a bright, hot (89*) September afternoon.  Yet, the breeze is cool-ish and, even with the heat, autumn is in the air.

I am thinking...about meekness & a joyful countenance

I am thankful for long days at home with my children.  We've been keeping the activities in check these past couple of years and it is such a blessing to have space to just 'be us' with our time, energy and interests.

From the learning rooms...Very good.  I have one subject area to reconsider at this poin (Geography!), but mostly, we are all happy and engaged with our texts and subjects.  Short lessons are just the thing this year.

From the kitchen...Still finalizing the 30 Day Meal Plan.  Though I just started studying the GAPS diet and may make a few alterations. Gah!

I am wearing...black (maternity) skirt and purple shirt + a braid

I am creating...menu plans, still.  Also, expanded chicken pen plans with Firstborn. Also, a feast for the Feast of the Holy Cross...there's The Prof's homemade pesto with pasta and for dessert a cross shaped cake (with significant help from Betty Crocker and Sunshine, our in house pastry chef in training)

I am going...nowhere for today. Nowhere at all.

I am reading...Our Children & the Mass:  How to make it 'live'  for them by Rev. A. de Sauveboeuf and Little House in the Big Woods with Little Queen.  I think we'll start a book about angels soon for the family.

I am hoping...to have holiday plans with the out of state family worked out soon.

I am hearing...Toddler O chattering about this and that.

Around the house cleaning out closets.  I just can't keep saving all the outgrown clothes from every season and every size so off to the resale shop they go.

One of my favorite things...waking to breakfast all ready in the crock pot.

A few plans for the rest of the weekPlanning a field trip to an historic working farm and hoping it might lead to some unique opportunities for Firstborn.  Also our first social with the American Heritage Girls---Sunshine is part of our local charter group.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...
