- live in another country for a time (I wouldn't want to be away for too very long)
- live near the sea...I've always felt so at home in the salty ocean air and found the sound of crashing waves rather comforting, though I have never more than visited
- be a missionary family
- live in a log cabin, in the woods, by a lake
- run a little food business with my children out of a refurbished airstream trailer
- make and sell beautiful things
- become a minimalist family
- hike and camp for an entire summer with the family
- operate an urban farm and live (mostly) from the fruits of our labors
- live in a big house in the country where we can welcome our extended family for gatherings, celebrations and long visits
- work as a midwife's assistant

thursday list :: daydreamer
It is rather child-like of me, I realize, but sometimes I wile away the hours of scrubbing the kitchen or bathrooms thinking of the grand adventures I once imagined I would embrace along the journey of life. Sometimes I still wish for them. Childish. But wherever these mental meanderings take me, I always end up back at home with my beloved family and so glad to be here. In the meantime, here are a few of my Big Imagined Journeys:

It is nice to know that I am not the only one with such imaginings during my work! I have imagined about half of those things on your list as well.
I also like to write letters to people in my imagination. Letters of thanks to teachers, friends, mentors. And sometimes mean letters to people I am angry at. It helps me work through things without actually putting them down. Sometimes I do write the nice ones out though, which is a blessing for me and the recipient. I found out that Hanna does this as well, which made our bond that much stronger!
Hillery, Thanks for your words. It is good to know that there are others that do this. I am kind of a Big Adventure type of girl, but my husband keeps me grounded with talk of income, bills, health insurance and, well, then I start to glaze over. Oh well, maybe someday...a girl can dream!
